About Iryna

Iryna Doroshenko, DTCM, L. Ac., Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM®)

As an acupuncturist, Iryna is licensed through the Delaware State Board of Medicine and certified nationally as a NCCAOM® Diplomate of Acupuncture. In her practice, besides acupuncture, she uses modalities such as cupping therapy, moxibustion, guasha, Tuina, electro-acupuncture.

Iryna's passion for acupuncture and Chinese Medicine began some decades ago when she fell ill with an acute illness that turned out to be a blessing in disguise. She was successfully treated with acupuncture by a doctor of Chinese Medicine and sprang back to health in one week to the amazement of her MD.

After experiencing first hand "miracles" of acupuncture, Iryna became interested in Western medicine and alternative healing systems such as Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, Bach Flowers, IET, Reiki. She graduated with honors in General Medicine with Qualification of Physician's Assistant/Paramedic (Ukraine), and worked at the regional hospital's ambulatory clinic and ER.

Later, she earned her Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (DTCM) and Acupuncturist (4 years) diploma with extensive clinic practice (1380 hours) from the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CITCM), Calgary, Alberta. Also, during her student years at the CITCM, she worked part-time at Green Jade Acupuncture and Massage Clinic, where she performed administrative tasks and shadowed the acupuncturist (with clients' permission).

As a committed mother of two now-teenagers, Iryna has been treating her children with TCM since their early years, as well as her other family members and herself, obtaining desired results and gaining more experience in the field, while going through the process of having her credentials evaluated and passing the NCCAOM board exams.

Iryna provides personalized treatment plans based on TCM diagnostic, and utilizes a combination of acupuncture techniques, cupping therapy, Tuina/acupressure, electro-acupuncture, and moxibustion in order to address each patient's unique needs.
